MMMeeja’s Forum & Comment Moderation Services
The buzz of the moment is for “social networking” web sites that allow visitors to post comments and reviews.
This is a great idea and can make for a great connection between you and your customers but there will always be a few people who will abuse the facilities, using your web site to advertise pornography and drugs or libel others.
By appointing MMMeeja to moderate comments on your blog or forum you can be sure that such problems are dealt with quickly. We can even help you to formulate an acceptable use policy.
We charge an hourly rate for forum moderation because forums differ so wildly in their use and traffic rates. We also believe that it's neither sensible, nor practical to provide 24/7 moderation.
Although we charge an hourly rate, you only get billed for the actual time that we spend performing moderation services, so if we spend 10 minutes per day, every day, that's one hour of billable time every six days. It is our experience that most forums will tick over calmly for days or weeks between a period of adverse activity that requires more intense moderation. We would typically agree with a customer that we will check on a forum at agreed times but also provide a contact mechanism whereby users can flag innappropriate content for us to act on ASAP.
The definition of adverse activity is entirely up to the client and our moderators will work with customers to understand the terms of use for the forum, and just as importantly the way that users of the forum want it to be policed. A forum's terms of use is typically a dry, legal document but forums should be lively, fun or useful places - we aim to keep them that way. Our moderators would not typically participate in your forum, the only actions they might make are to remove or edit the posts of others, ban or unban members or similar technical activities.
It is important to remember that our moderators may not be experts in the subject matter covered by your forum. Nor would we expect our moderators to be exposed to graphic sexual or violent imagery.
